the need is for adjusting margins per client/in each quote to get it where we want it without having to go back into each line item and adjust it there.

AGREED! I have business client with a set margin, while my charity and HOW clients have a lower margin. design doesn't change. I'd prefer to build it with full MSRP and then select the margin based on the customer. Once the margin is selected, it automatically adjusts all the parts' margin.
