Standard Line Item Invoices

We could create a sort of invoice for point of sale while out in the field or in the showroom. No need for a whole proposal. The Simple Layout is great but seems like a workaround rather than an actual invoice for just a service call or piece of equipment. Would love to be able to take payment right there from the invoice as well without having to send a separate payment request.

We are working on full blown invoicing functionality right now. We are going to have two types of invoices...
- RETAINER INVOICE
A simple one line invoice you can use to request money from a client, usually a deposit (or retainer). This type of invoice is used when you don't want to recognize any revenue right now in your books, but you need to take money from a client. Paymnets taken with Retainer Invoices are generally recorded in your books as 'Unearned Revenue', a liability on your Balance Sheet. This is essentially what our 'Payment Requests' are now. We are going to convert our existing payment requests into Retainer Invoices.
- STANDARD INVOICE
This is a typical multi-line-itemed invoice, just like QuickBooks, where you can bill for goods and services and recognize revenue. A big request from dealers who want to simply bill for service calls or other point-of-sale transactions without needing to build a proposal.

Be able to send invoices too, not only proposals

Sometimes we have existing customers that we go to the property for service visit and repairs, and then we send them the bill. Most of the time when we do this we are sending them what seems to be a proposal even though it should appear to be an invoice for a job that has already been completed.

Invoice that wasn't a proposal...

I use portal to send an invoice after I do a service call. There was no Proposal involved, but I have to make one, accept it for the client and then send the invoice. Can we get a separate invoice tab?

We need a simple on page invoice we can send and get paid on. Sometimes a proposal is just a bit too much.

Yeah we're going to build invoices in January.

Kirk Chisholm when are we expected to see this invoice feature?
Kirk Chisholm
Miguel Rodriguez We're converting the existing payment requests to invoices now. You should be noticing significant improvements already. Our focus for the next 4 weeks is invoices, so expect something around the end of April.

We are FINALLY hiring a service company (OneVision) to help us with service and support, which should lead to many more service call invoices. My options today are both lousy. 1. Use Quickbooks, which I don't like OR 2. Create an "invoice" in Portal, which is just a proposal titled "XX Family - Service Call Invoice"
Sending an invoice that has to be accepted with pages of unnecessary information is overkill.

Would be nice to be able to select sections we wanted to be billed.
